La revista Pedagogía y Sociedad, fundada en 1997 con ISSN impreso: 1608-3784, e-ISSN: 3007-4363 y RNPS: 1903, es una publicación científica de carácter nacional e internacional que se apega a la filosofía de acceso abierto. Su principal misión es promover, impulsar y difundir los resultados de investigaciones científicas en Iberoamérica, América Latina y el Caribe. Hasta el año 2024, se publicaba con frecuencia cuatrimestral (enero-abril, mayo-agosto, septiembre-diciembre). A partir del Vol. 28 (2025) comenzó el sistema de publicación continua, estableciendo una salida de enero a diciembre en forma de volumen, con aproximadamente entre 30 y 35 artículos de investigación original, revisión bibliográfica y ensayos académicos, disponibles en texto completo, en diversos formatos como PDF, HTML, XML JATS y EPUB.
El perfil editorial se enfoca en la publicación de artículos inéditos o poco difundidos que aborden temas vinculados con las Ciencias Pedagógicas, las Ciencias Sociales y otras disciplinas afines a la educación y la sociedad, tales como Humanidades, Ciencias del Arte, Historia, áreas Técnicas, Empresariales, Agropecuarias, Biológicas, Químicas y Ciencias de la Salud. Está dirigida a estudiantes, investigadores, docentes y miembros de la comunidad científica interesados en la temática de la revista.
El Comité Científico está integrado por investigadores externos de reconocido prestigio, quienes garantizan la calidad y rigor académico de los artículos mediante un riguroso proceso de revisión por pares externos, aplicando la modalidad de doble ciego o incorporando prácticas de comunicación propias de la Ciencia Abierta.
La revista difunde sus contenidos en diversas bases de datos bibliográficas y directorios internacionales, logrando posicionar sus artículos entre los primeros resultados en Google Scholar. Está reconocida en el Registro Nacional de Publicaciones Seriadas de Cuba (RNPS) y certificada por el Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología y Medio Ambiente (CITMA) como Publicación Seriada Científico-Tecnológica. Además, se encuentra indexada en directorios internacionales como Latindex , así como en bases de datos especializadas como REDALYC, ERIHPLUS, MIAR, CLASE, IRESIE y DIALNET. También forma parte de plataformas de acceso abierto como REDIB y LatinREV.
La revista está presente en redes sociales como Facebook, Instagram y ResearchGate, y en redes académicas como LinkedIn, Mendeley y Academia.edu. Asimismo, puede consultarse en los portales institucionales http://intranet.mes.edu.cu, https://www.uniss.edu.cu, https://intranet.uniss.edu.cu, y en el repositorio institucional http://dspace.uniss.edu.cu de la Universidad de Sancti Spíritus “José Martí Pérez“, Cuba.
Desde el 2019, los contenidos de Pedagogía y Sociedad se publicaron bajo la licencia Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International hasta el año 2022. A partir de 2023, por decisión del Consejo Editorial, se adoptó la licencia Creative Commons Reconocimiento-NoComercial-SinObraDerivada 4.0 Internacional. Esta licencia permite copiar y distribuir las obras por cualquier medio, siempre que se reconozca a los autores, que no se haga uso comercial y que no se realicen modificaciones. En ese momento, se estableció que los autores conservan sus derechos de autor sin restricciones. La revista no impone costos de procesamiento, envío ni ningún otro cargo a los autores (no APC).
Al enviar manuscritos, el autor correspondiente debe informar sobre la alineación de la investigación y la conformidad del manuscrito con las prácticas de ciencia abierta. Para ello, la revista recomienda utilizar el Formulario sobre Conformidad con la Ciencia Abierta, que debe enviarse como archivo complementario junto con el manuscrito y compartirse con editores y revisores.

Nos complace anunciar que la revista "Pedagogía y Sociedad" ha sido oficialmente incorporada al Sistema de Información Científica Redalyc. Este es un gran paso para la revista y para todos aquellos que forman parte de nuestra comunidad académica.
La inclusión en Redalyc (Ver certificado) no solo aumenta la visibilidad de nuestras publicaciones, sino que también fortalece el acceso a investigaciones de calidad en el campo de la pedagogía. Esto significa que nuestros artículos estarán disponibles para un público más amplio, promoviendo el intercambio de conocimientos y la colaboración entre investigadores, docentes y estudiantes.

La revista está a favor de la Ciencia Abierta y por tanto recibe manuscritos de repositorios preprints o que promuevan la colocación de los datos de investigación en dataservers entre otras manifestaciones.

The journal Pedagogía y Sociedad, founded in 1997 with ISSN printed: 1608-3784, e-ISSN: 3007-4363 and RNPS: 1903, is a national and international scientific publication that adheres to the open access philosophy. Its main mission is to promote, to foster and spread the results of scientific research in Ibero-America, Latin America and the Caribbean. Until 2024, it was published every four months (January-April, May-August, September-December). The preferred language for publication is Spanish, although articles written entirely in English are accepted.
From Vol. 28 (2025) began the system of continuous publication, establishing an output from January to December in volume form, with approximately 30-35 original research articles, bibliographical review and academic essays, available in full text, in various formats such as: PDF, HTML, JATS XML and EPUB.
The editorial profile is focused on the publication of unpublished or little-circulated articles that address topics related to Pedagogical Sciences, Social Sciences and other disciplines related to Education and society, such as Humanities, Art Sciences, History, Technical, Business, Agricultural, Biological, Chemical and Health Sciences. It is addressed to students, researchers, teachers and members of the scientific community interested in themes it addresses.
The Scientific Committee is composed by well-known external researchers, who guarantee the quality and the academic rigor of articles through a rigorous process of peer review, applying the double-blind modality or incorporating Open Science communication practices.
The journal disseminates its contents in various bibliographical databases and international directories, managing to place its articles among the first results in Google Scholar. It is recognized in the National Registry of Serial Publications of Cuba (RNPS) and certified by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) as a Scientific-Technological Serial Publication. It is also indexed in international directories such as Latindex, as well as specialized databases such as REDALYC, ERIHPLUS, MIAR, CLASE, IRESIE and DIALNET. Since 2019, the contents of Pedagogía y Sociedad were published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license until 2022. From 2023, by decision of the Editorial Board, the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivative Works 4.0 International license was adopted. This license allows the works to be copied and distributed by any means, provided that the authors are acknowledged, no commercial use is made, and no modifications are made. At that time, it was established that authors retain their copyright without restrictions. The journal does not impose any processing, shipping or other fees on the authors (no APC).
When submitting manuscripts, the corresponding author should report on the alignment of the research and the conformity of the manuscript with open science practices. To do this, the journal recommends using the Open Science Compliance Form, which should be sent as a complementary file with the manuscript and shared with editors and reviewers.
