Healthy sports activity in improving cardiorespiratory fitness and muscular strength among asthma patients in Algeria/Actividad deportiva saludable para mejorar aptitud cardiorrespiratoria y fuerza muscular en pacientes asmáticos en Argelia
Resumen
Introduction: Physical activity seems to be a therapeutic approach for asthma treatment. Secondary school teenagers with asthma greatly benefit from the efficacy of sports physical activities that are conducted during both school hours and leisure time.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of sports activities, both physiologically and physically, on high school students with asthma who participate in sports activities (active) and those who do not (inactive).
Methods: The research sample (15 active and 15 inactive) was subjected to four tests in order. These tests included the variables muscular strength and cardiorespiratory fitness. The study was broken up into phases and carried out between November and December of 2023. The Independent Samples t-Test for was performed to compare the variables in both groups.
Results: Students who exercised had better results than those who did not, according to a comparison of the endurance and muscular strength tests used to assess physical fitness, in terms of levels of cardiorespiratory fitness.
Conclusion: The study's findings indicate that the cardiorespiratory fitness of students with asthma who participate in sports physical activities (active) statistically significantly differ from that of those who do not (inactive). From a physiological and physical perspective they have better results than their counterparts who do not.
