La revista Márgenes, editada por la Universidad de Sancti Spíritus “José Martí Pérez” (UNISS), es una publicación electrónica científica y arbitrada que comenzó a publicarse en 2013. Hasta 2024 mantuvo una frecuencia cuatrimestral y, a partir de enero de 2025, adoptó un sistema de publicación continua, con un volumen anual que abarca desde enero hasta diciembre. La revista se fundamenta en los principios de acceso abierto e inmediato a todos sus contenidos.

Enfoque y alcance

Márgenes es una revista multidisciplinaria dirigida a profesionales, docentes e investigadores nacionales e internacionales que abordan temáticas relacionadas con las Ciencias Sociales y Humanísticas, Ciencias Agropecuarias, Veterinarias, Ciencias Técnicas, Ciencias Económicas y Contables, así como Ciencias Pedagógicas. Todos los artículos deben ser originales, conformando el universo de lectores y colaboradores de la publicación.

Objetivo: Difundir el conocimiento a través de artículos científicos en distintas áreas de la ciencia, que contribuyan al perfeccionamiento de las investigaciones, la superación y la docencia, tributando al desarrollo local y sostenible de los territorios.

Misión: Facilitar la difusión de investigaciones, proyectos y experiencias docentes, científicas y técnicas vinculadas al desarrollo local y la sostenibilidad tanto en Cuba como en el extranjero.

Visión: Consolidarse como una revista de referencia en temas de desarrollo local y sostenibilidad en Iberoamérica.

Márgenes está incluida en bases de datos como ERIHPLUS y Catálogo 2.0 Latindex, registrada en el Registro Nacional de Publicaciones Seriadas (RNPS) y certificada por el Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología y Medio Ambiente (CITMA). También figura en directorios académicos (LatinREV, REDIB y LATINDEX), redes académicas (Google Scholar, Mendeley, Academia.edu), profesionales (LinkedIn) y sociales (Facebook y X).

La revista forma parte del catálogo del sistema ABCD versión 3.0 del Centro de Recursos para el Aprendizaje y la Investigación (CRAI) de la UNISS y está disponible en el Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Sancti Spíritus. No cobra cargos por procesamiento, envío ni publicación de artículos (sin APCs).

Desde el 2019, los contenidos de Márgenes se publicaron bajo la licencia Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International hasta el año 2022. A partir de 2023, por decisión del Consejo Editorial, se adoptó la licencia Creative Commons Reconocimiento-NoComercial-SinObraDerivada 4.0 Internacional. Esta licencia permite copiar y distribuir las obras por cualquier medio, siempre que se reconozca a los autores, que no se haga uso comercial y que no se realicen modificaciones. En ese momento, se estableció que los autores conservan sus derechos de autor sin restricciones. La revista no impone costos de procesamiento, envío ni ningún otro cargo a los autores (no APC).

Márgenes Journal, published by the Universidad de Sancti Spíritus "José Martí Pérez" (UNISS), is a peer-reviewed scientific electronic publication that began in 2013. Until 2024, it was published four-monthly, and from January 2025, it adopted a continuous publication system, with an annual volume running from January to December. The journal is based on the principles of open and immediate access to all its content.

Focus and Scope

Márgenes is a multidisciplinary journal aimed at national and international professionals, teachers, and researchers addressing topics related to Social Sciences and Humanities, Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, Technical Sciences, Economic and Accounting Sciences, as well as Pedagogical Sciences. All articles must be original, constituting the readership and contributors of the publication.

Objective: To disseminate knowledge through scientific articles in various areas, contributing to the improvement of research, training, and teaching, thereby supporting the local and sustainable development of territories.

Mission: To facilitate the diffusion of research, projects, and teaching, scientific, and technical experiences related to local development and sustainability, both in Cuba and abroad.

Vision: To strengthen itself as a leading journal on topics of local development and sustainability in Ibero-America.

Márgenes is indexed in databases such as ERIHPLUS and Catalog 2.0 Latindex, registered in the National Registry of Serial Publications (RNPS), and certified by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA). It is also listed in academic directories (LatinREV, REDIB, and LATINDEX), academic networks (Google Scholar, Mendeley, Academia.edu), professional networks (LinkedIn), and social networks (Facebook and X).

The journal is part of the ABCD system version 3.0 catalog of the UNISS Learning and Research Resource Center (CRAI) and is available in the Institutional Repository of the University of Sancti Spíritus. It charges no processing, submission, or publication fees (no APCs).

Since 2019, the contents of Márgenes were published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license until 2022. From 2023, by decision of the Editorial Board, the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivative Works 4.0 International license was adopted. This license allows the works to be copied and distributed by any means, provided that the authors are acknowledged, no commercial use is made, and no modifications are made. At that time, it was established that authors retain their copyright without restrictions. The journal does not impose any processing, shipping or other fees on the authors (no APC).
