Need for bioethics in the post-pandemic society

Abstract

Introduction, the article states that among the problems that society faces today, worldwide, are those related to the consequences left by Covid 19. Health professionals are involved in the finding of solutions. To achieve this, a mastery of critical thinking is required. Philosophy, in particular ethics, bioethics and social justice are the sources to confront them.

The purpose of this article is to outline some arguments regarding the need to improve the relation between knowledge about bioethics and the performance of health professionals in Cuba.

The methodology used emphasizes qualitative methods.

Preliminary results of the research carried out to improve the teaching of the Philosophy and Health Sciences course taught to residents of the University of Medical Sciences of Sancti Spíritus are presented.

Conclusions: An analysis of the topic in contemporary literature is carried out, approaches that are made to philosophy today are defined, testimonies of doctors who recently completed the aforementioned course are revealed and the topics to be modified are proposed based on the particularities of the current context.
