ACTIVITIES TO TRAIN THE FAMILIES OF THE BOYS AND GIRLS INVOLVED IN THE “EDUCATE YOUR CHILD” PROGRAM
Abstract
This article deals with activities aimed at guiding the families of the children involved in the "Educate Your Child" program and assessing their knowledge of the activities of this program which contributes to a comprehensive training of their children at the beginning of primary education, specifically in the community of Zaza de Medio. The 18 families of children aged from three to four who attend the different modalities of the program as well as the sport and education promoters are taken as a sample. These activities allow to review and verify the knowledge of the selected families about the program. Additionally, they allow to encourage the families´ participation in training activities such as work on habits formation, language development, exercises for motor-physical development and cultural and recreational activities, thus contributing to train the families for them to assume their responsibility and continue the educational work at home where the child begins his/her development as a social being. The proposal of activities is accompanied by the creative process, the methodological procedure of theoretical and empirical methods, as well as the observation techniques. Furthermore, the analysis of the results on the families´ knowledge of the subject was carried out. These activities were coordinated with the involved organizations in the community of Zaza del Medio.
