CHARACTERIZATION AND EVOLUTION OF PREGNANT WOMEN WITH THIN FETUS IN THE GENERAL PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL "CAMILO CIENFUEGOS"

Abstract

Introduction: In obstetric practice, Intrauterine Growth Restriction is a multifactorial nosological entity that has a high risk of perinatal morbimortality. In the provincial office of the Camilo Cienfuegos Hospital, we work with a protocol that integrates Primary Health Care actions.

Objective: To describe the behavior and evolution of pregnant women with thin fetus in Intrauterine Growth Restriction consultation at the Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial General Hospital in the period 2020-2022.

Methods: A descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional design was proposed by assuming as essential idea the mission of describing the behavior and evolution of the thin fetus for Gestational Age.

Results: Data were collected and processed showing a sociodemographic characterization similar to the behavior of Intrauterine Growth Restriction. Preventive actions showed a potential for a positive ultrasonographic evolution, decrease and control of morbidity by own pathologies, and improvement of the weight of the hypotrophic newborn.

Conclusions: The results described allow us to evaluate as favorable the work with the concept of Thin Fetus, which allows for greater prevention, manages to raise the quality of care of pregnant women, improves perinatal and neonatal morbimortality indicators which contributes to the decrease of Infant Mortality in the territory.
