Introduction: Labor training constitutes a fundamental aspect for the education and the integral formation of the personality of new generations.
Objective: To propose a system of activities contributing to the education of the value of industriousness in the 9th grade students of Ernesto Valdés Muñoz secondary school. The theoretical foundation addresses the characterization of ninth grade schoolchildren, teaching and extra-teaching activities, a conceptualization, general considerations of values education and industriousness as a value to be formed in basic secondary schools.
Methods: Theoretical methods are applied: analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, historical-logical, systemic-structural and modeling; empirical: scientific observation, survey, document analysis, interview and pedagogical test; mathematical and statistical: percentage analysis, tables and graphs, which enable determining educational needs and elaborating the system of activities aimed at improving the integral education of the students of basic secondary schools, values education and especially industriousness.
Results: A set of motivating, dynamic activities were applied using the educational teaching process as an essential way to work on the education of the value of industriousness in basic secondary schoolchildren.
Conclusions: The completion of the pre-experiment demonstrates the contribution of teaching activities to the formation of the value of industriousness in basic secondary schoolchildren.
